Campbell-Rey
Swedish-Scottish duo Duncan Campbell and Charlotte Rey are the epitome of renaissance creatives, acclaimed across the fields of creative direction, branding, curation and design. We invited the visionary pair to share their ultimate wish list…
The One Book
We enjoy the work of architects and designers who approach the design of a teaspoon with as much interest as that of a skyscraper. We also like to think both big and small in our work, and have a lot to learn from the Wiener Werkstätte. This comprehensive book is a wonder.
The One Rug
Part of our collaboration with Swedish brand Nordic Knots, the hand-knotted Climbing Vine rug subtly nods towards Gustavian design, the neoclassicism of the north, whilst retaining a sense of the unexpected in its lilac and chartreuse colourway. Hand crafted by Goodweave™ certified weavers, it would make a perfect backdrop to a seating group in any room.
The One Lamp
We often look to the natural world in our designs. This beautiful Swedish Grace lamp by CG Hallberg is a great example of the way the style combines nature, elegance and a sense of the playful.
The One Bathroom Buy
We are huge admirers of what Richard Christiansen is doing with his Flamingo Estate brand. These garden soaps are a dream and would make a wonderful gift.
The One Candlestick
We love the way these candlesticks by Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn combine precisely worked pewter with bamboo’s natural unpredictability. We both have a pair which we use with very tall coloured candles.
The One Cushion
If you don’t have space for a whole tapestry, these cushions from By Walid, featuring 17th century tapestry fragments, are a fun piece of the action.
The One Buy For The Garden
We both spend a lot of time in our gardens, and plan for them all year around. Rare blooms can be quite tricky to get hold of, but Chiltern Seeds specialise in just that – the rare and beautiful which can be a bit of a challenge to grow but so rewarding when they eventually blossom. At the moment, we both dream of a meadow so perhaps this wild meadow mix?
The One Piece Of Furniture
A stellar bed! This Costellazione bed frame by Aldo Frigerio is heaven.
The One Ceramic
We love Tommaso Barbi’s alluring ribbed ceramic work, and this ice bucket in green is a beautiful example.
The One Piece Of Art
A Rachel Ruysch floral still life – any one of them would be magic.
The One Mirror
Good enough to eat! We lust after a pair of these Georgian-style Irish mirrors from Ebury Trading, with their emerald glass and rock-crystal faceted borders. They’d look perfect on either side of a fireplace above a pair of console tables.
The One Candle
Fornasetti’s Architettura candle. It’s like having a tiny palazzo on your coffee table.
The One Piece of Glassware
La Double J's range of Murano glassware is wonderful and exuberant; the rainbow colours and contrasting rims bring a sense of occasion.
The One Unexpected Home Accessory
Our Crescent Moon stool in Le Manach Tigre Velvet, available from The Invisible Collection.
