A note from Camilla
“I have been going to flea markets and second-hand shops for as long as I can remember. I like to mix vintage, high street and inexpensive market finds in both my wardrobe and my interiors. I’m a big fan of Ikea and, more recently, of Zara Home. “I mind about lighting and how a house smells. I love candles and bath essences; lampshades are really important as they cast a warm light and I always use dimmers to create an enticing atmosphere. “In an ideal world, I would do everything lying down! I have day beds outside and very comfortable sofas with deep cushions. I always have white sofas – I love the way they look – and then I can add colourful objects – glass, cushions, rugs, old textiles and always a dash of red. When I look at a room I want it to be welcoming and informal, even if it is essentially a grand room. Things don’t have to be expensive, I like a mix of high and low.”
